About Us
Joanna and Melvin started farming as newlyweds in 1992, continuing their families’ tradition of agriculture. By 2006 the hobby greenhouse was replaced by multiple larger ones, and the vegetable garden had expanded into the farm fields.
Steckle’s continues to be a family operation, with the next generation moving into ownership roles. Norman and Melvin manage the cattle, forage, and grains side, while Michelle, Joanna and the girls handle the garden center and farm market.
The market closes down for the season after Civic Holiday weekend, as the custom grains combining season begins with wheat harvest.
